Derek Johnson is a creative art director and hands on designer who has spent the breadth of his career focused in art direction & design. He is also an artist, writer, musician and by nature, an observer, constantly inspired by the power of images and their relevance in both culture and the world at large.

He began his career at Sims Snowboards in Santa Barbara, California, where he helped launch the sport into a mass appeal youth culture giant. Derek then relocated to Zurich, Switzerland and Milan, Italy and has developed creative for clients including Target, Nike, Nintendo, Airwalk, Spinmaster, Wham-O, and DNR. He has
also worked with various gaming and web companies in the development of visuals and key concepts and continues to learn and grow in experience.

As a creative director, Derek focuses on the creation and evolution of brands. His industry experience as a consultant, agency creative and in-house director provides a multifaceted understanding of the business. Coupled with his natural curiosity and consumer insight, he understands what can transform a company into a truly unique brand. Derek creates a seamless experience, through branding & strategic positioning, creative concepting & image design, advertising & packaging, as well as corporate & product identity.

Derek now lives in the bay area and travels to Los Angeles, New York, Europe and a handful of other locations, both practical and exploratory.
